DESCRIPTION
Mountain biking High Atlas des Bougmez in Imilchil and discover the high valleys of the central Atlas by mountain biking.
A sporty mountain bike circuit to discover a preserved and little-known nomadic High Atlas.
Departure from Marrakech towards the Bougmez valley where we will ride our bikes to go towards the upper valley of Zawyat Ahansal, before starting a beautiful descent with our MTB bikes towards the village of Ahansal and its beautiful fortified villages. Then a gradual climb up the mountainside, with the panorama of the cliffs of the Cirque de Taghia and the imposing cliff of Mestefrane or “Cathedral rock”.
Then, in a wild environment, our High Atlas mountain bike ride follows the Akhachane gorges on a track carved into the rock that runs along the Assif Melloul river. At the end of our mountain bike route, the Anergui valley appears with its circus and its superb fortified villages. A fairly steep road will take us to the ridges to cross the Tingarf highlands, territories of the Ait Abdi and Ait Sukhmane nomads. Before returning to the track at the nomadic village of Tasraft and finishing our High Atlas mountain bike circuit in Imilchil, territory of the Ait Haddidou transhumant Berbers.

Itinerary:
Day 1 – Marrakesh:
Airport reception and installation at your hotel. Free meals. Night in a *** hotel
Day 2: Marrakech - Ait Bougmez Valley (300 kms/5H)
Transfer by minibus to the Ait Bougmez valley. Lunch en route.
In the afternoon, warm up along the slopes of Mgoun, to the village of Ait Imi. Dinner and night in a cottage.
Day 3: The upper valley of Zawyat Ahansal:
Crossing the Bougmez valley to Ifrane by mountain bike. Passage of the Tizi'n Tirghist pass (2629m) and beautiful descent towards the Assamsouq valley. Picnic break before resuming our mountain bikes. Arrived at the Tizi'n Tsali n'Imenaïn pass, a superb descent leads us to the village of Zawyat Ahansal where we will spend the night in a homestay.
Day 4: The “Cathedral Rock”:
This morning with our mountain bikes, descent of the beautiful river of Zawyat. Discovery of villages and their superb fortified granaries. We will pass on the right bank of the wadi to begin a gradual climb on the mountainside, with the panorama of the ocher cliffs of the Cirque de Taghia behind us, and in front of us, the imposing cliff of Mestefrane or "Cathedral rock". Beautiful winding descent to the bottom of the valley and the village of Imi n'Ouareg, where we will spend the night with the locals.
Day 5: Anergui Valley:
In a wild environment, our route follows the Akhachane gorges, a track dug into the rock that runs along the wadi. On a lucky day, we may see Magot monkeys colonizing the cliffs, but don't be too distracted, the track is difficult. At the end of our race, the valley of Anergui appears with its circus and its superb fortified villages. Another 6kms of track along the assif Melloul to reach Ait Boulmane. Night in a comfortable ecolodge.
Day 6: The nomadic highlands of Imilchil:
A wild route and a fairly steep road will take us high up on the ridges. Crossing the Tingarf highlands, territories of the Ait Abdi and Ait Sukhmane nomads. We will find the track from the village of Tasraft where a nomadic souk takes place every week, to end our day in Imilchil. Night in hostel
Day 7: Return to Marrakech:
This morning we find our vehicle to return to Marrakech. Arriving late in the day. Installation at your hotel. Free dinner. Night
