Itinerary:
Day 1: The High Atlas:
Meeting with your guide at 8am and transfer by 4X4 to the first foothills of the High Atlas. Preparation of the bikes near the village of Azgour at 1500m altitude, where we will begin our mountain bike raid on a track to discover the first Berber villages. After a short climb, we will cross a pass and enjoy a superb section of rapid passage over a dry wadi. Pedaling through a superb pine forest we will reach the village of Imi n'Tala where we will eat a tagine with a family.
In the afternoon, our track will follow a succession of typical villages along the beautiful valley of Anougal. Then we will leave the dirt track to end our mountain bike journey near Amizmiz. Installation of our bikes on the 4x4 to go to our hostel located on the shores of Lake Lalla Takerkoust. Dinner and night.
Day 2: The Kik & Imlil plateau:
After a hearty breakfast, we will start our day on a flat course before climbing to the village of Taghenchoute. A good climb will take us to the Kik plateau with its superb view of the High Atlas mountains and Toubkal, the roof of North Africa. Over the seasons, the landscapes of the plateau are transformed: Ochre/brown when the farmers plow the land with their mules. From brown to white in winter with snow capped peaks of the Atlas. Green & red in spring, when the soft green barley fields are dotted with poppies. Finally the yellow in summer announces the harvests. After this beautiful walk through terraced gardens and adobe villages, the track quickly goes up in altitude to begin our descent to the village of Asni.
If you still have a little energy, we can drive 17 km to reach the village of Imlil; otherwise we install the bikes on the 4x4 to go to our guest house in Imlil.
Day 3: The high valleys of Toubkal:
From the foothills of Mount Toubkal, our mountain bike trek begins with the ascent of the Tizi n'Tamatart pass at an altitude of 2230m, with a spectacular view of the majestic Toubkal, often snow-covered. At the village of Wanskra we will follow a dirt road on the mountainside. The impressive route overlooks the wadi with its verdant terraces and villages clinging to the mountain slopes.
A walk punctuated by crossing superb Berber villages where a hospitable population lives who will invite you to have a tea. The arrival near Asni marks the end of our mountain bike tour. After installing our bikes on the 4x4, a short transfer of 12 km will take us to our hostel near the village.
Day 4: The upper Ourika valley:
After a hearty breakfast, we will prepare for the ride of the day!
We will start with a short flat section before testing our physical abilities on a long and arduous climb to Tadmamt, a pass located at an altitude of 1800m. As we climb we will enjoy the superb view of the plain of Haouz, contrasting with the imposing peaks of the Atlas just above us.
In the afternoon, we will do a beautiful track overlooking the beautiful Ourika valley. A mixture of paths and tracks that will lead us to the end of this superb valley where our cycling adventure ends. Installation of our mountain bikes on the 4X4, and return to Marrakech. END OF OUR SERVICE
